There are walks and trails from the lodge and for the more adventurous there is the Black combe nearby. It is not quite a mountain but a good climb none the less, with spectacular views over Millom to the Duddon valley and on a clear day you will see the Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales. Wordsworth wrote a poem about it.
